DIY: Starfish hair clips

How cute are these starfish hair clips?!

I needed something to pull my mermaid costume together for Halloween and these are the perfect addition. The best part is that they are super easy to make!

I purchased some starfish from my local Michael’s or craft store (I selected a pack of three that had a variety of sizes in it so that I could distribute them all over my long curly hair), and used some jewelry & metal glue to adhere them to some plain metal hair clips that I also found at the craft store.

I clipped them in as soon as they dried. Took about 24 hours to fully adhere.

If you go to Michaels, don’t forget to use their weekly 40% off one regular priced item coupon.

  2. Hair clips
  3. Jewelry & Metal Glue (I purchased the 3 pack in case it dried out before I used it again, but they sell a large single tube also)

How cute is this DIY jewelry project?!

The best part is that this unique fashion statement is super inexpensive to make.  You most likely don’t even have to spend a dime if your unwanted silverware is located right in your kitchen drawer.
